About the Speaker

Professor Karl Schmedders is a Visiting Professor of Executive MBA Education at the Kellogg School of Management. His research and teaching focus on the economic drivers and financial risks associated with climate change. Before joining IMD, a business school with campuses in Singapore and Switzerland, Karl served as Professor of Quantitative Business Administration at the University of Zurich and as an Associate Professor (with tenure) at Kellogg. He earned his PhD from Stanford University.

Karl’s research has been published in leading academic journals, including Econometrica, The Review of Economic Studies, and The Journal of Finance. He is a fellow of the Game Theory Society and an SAET Economic Theory Fellow. Additionally, he serves as the president of the board of LPX Group in Switzerland and is the co-founder of a carbon-credit startup based in Singapore.
